_ Hi Michael -

Thanks for continuing to make such a great product.

I use the product on a few different horse at the suggestion of my holistic veterinarian. It has always helped whichever horse is using it.

Thanks,
Alexandra

Hi Michael, so far good results, haven't used it very long, my filly had an upper respiratory infection set in and we had to go the heavy antibiotic route, now on Breath Ease. Seems to have opened up her airways, etc. Will keep you posted.

Thanks for checking in

Hi Michael

I will be ordering more soon. Due to how far gone my horse was its taking longer to work. I am still giving a full scoop am and pm. It worked extremely well as an expectant so his lungs aren't keeping the mucus in them. The past 2 shows I took him to he barely coughed after running the barrels. Most of time the cough is prevalent when warming him up.

Thanks for taking the time to inquire

Hi Mike,

My problem is that my horse (age 14) is the pickiest eater ever. I have tried many combinations of things to get him to eat the Breathe Ease powder. Molasses and oats seems to work pretty well but I have wasted a lot of the powder trying different ways to get him to eat it. The last week or so I have just given him about 2/3 of a scoop per day and will increase the amount once I get a fool proof method of feeding him the powder. I can’t say for sure how much the Breathe Ease has helped his breathing but he has been moving really well under saddle and rarely coughs. After he has been ridden, the discharge from his nose has decreased by 50 % from what it was before.

He was moved to living outdoors in Littleton CO 24/7 at the beginning of Oct; previously he was stabled in northern IL in a barn where hay was stored above the stalls and dropped down into the stalls through openings in the hay loft floor. The climate and this environment lead to his extreme asthmatic condition over a few years time. He was given a round of prednisilone when he first arrived in CO because of his condition at that time. I read about Breathe Ease and it sounded like something that I should try with him. My friend back in IL has a horse who has severe COPD and is given inhalers on a daily basis. Her vet told her to give her horse a “Chinese herbal breathing powder” which I’m guessing is Breathe Ease. His condition is much worse than my horse and probably will not improve until he is moved to a 24/7 outdoor living situation in a dryer climate. I don’t know if the powder has helped him.

I will continue giving my horse the powder in the reduced amount until I have a fool proof mixture that he will eat.

Mike, the two horses couldn’t be better, they haven’t been on it for awhile and no problems have come back. Had the quarter horse vet checked before I got the order of Breathe Ease, she said he was all done using for any kind of hard riding. Put him on Breathe Ease and it took about four weeks and he is back to running a 1/8th mile hard. I'm riding him about 5 miles at a time cross country and he has no problem doing so. I did video tape him before Breathe Ease, I'll have to post it to you.

Thanks

Hi Michael - My horse (13 yr old Morgan mare) has been diagnosed with IAD and via a BAL test they found she has "mast cells" in her lungs, which I am told do not respond effectively to steroids.  Over the years I have tried a number of other respiratory supplements (especially from SmartPak) but your product is the first one that has made a noticeable improvement in her exercise tolerance.  I use her for Combined Driving and I've always had difficulty with her endurance in the marathon phase.  It seemed like we were at a plateau that I couldn't get past no matter how much fitness work we did.

Before my last 2 CDE's (in October) I used your product and she had more energy and endurance than I have ever seen from her!  It was such a thrill to see her with energy left over at the end of the marathon!  I will say however that she still ends up with a very high respiratory rate at the vet check (her P & R are always inverted) but she seems to recover quickly.  Her respiratory allergies seem to be seasonal so I'm now cutting back on her daily dosage but will ramp it back up in the spring before her allergies flare up again.

Hey Michael,

Kodiak (Spotted Saddle Horse) is my first born so needless to say he is a little extra special.

In March 2011, he was diagnosed with COPD. I immediately started searching for something that might help him. After several hours of surfing the Internet and comparing products it appeared that Breathe Ease was the way to go.

Kodiak is not a picky eater but the first time I put it in his feed he turned his nose up. That was not what I expected. Day two was better, he ate everything. Day three, he was licking his bucket clean and day four and every day to present, we have a "tug of war" to get him away from his feed bucket.

Every day he is on Breath Ease I can tell a difference. He appears to feel better and moves a lot easier and faster. But more importantly, he is not coughing as much as he used to. On a scale of 1 to 10, his cough use to be a 10, but now it's about a 2 and his weight is starting to pick back up.

So thank you very much for your product. It's been a life saver for him. I wasn't looking forward to a "plan B" if plan A wasn't working.

Hi Michael

I have been using your product for a paint horse I purchased five years ago. She is a fantastic horse, very willing, good learner and extremely athletic. The problem we encountered with her was that she coughed consistently at the lope. She was diagnosed with COPD (resulting in her difficulty catching her breath when worked at higher levels). We started her on steroids, however, I was nervous with the side affects. I read an artical in The Horse Journal that recommended your product for horses with Exercise Induced Cough. I purchased your product Breathe Ease and started her with the recommended doses. Within 3 days I noticed the cough completely disappear when riding her. (No side effects!) I have been feeding her a scoop everyday since. My daughter has shown her at local horse shows and she has even received reserve champion in several classes. This never would have been possible before using your product. I have recommended your product to several other horse owners who have been frustrated with related issues.

Thanks!

Hi Michael,

Thanks for checking in! The Breath Ease worked really well, resolved the exercise induced cough in one horse and made my other one significantly better. Shipping and packaging was great, and I do need to re-order, but hope to do so in the larger size this time.
Thanks!

Hi Michael,

So far, I can see a MAJOR improvement on my mare. FYI: She is a 21 year old Selle Francais who started experiencing COPD about 3 summers ago. Every year it gets worse and earlier. It started way early this year to a point I though I could not ride this spring and summer. She coughed heavily to a point cantering was not an option any longer.

Thanks to Breathe Ease, I can almost work normally and we are back to showing this coming weekend. She still experiences some discomfort and wheezing; however, the cough is gone and the swelling in the throat nodules is gone.

Thanks for refunding the shipping charges due to the delay in mailing the product. It was very appreciated.

It does work, at least for now and I think more people need to read about it and try it.

My mare has been on Dexamethasone like many other horses here down in NC where it gets hot and VERY humid. Dexamethasone will kill your horse long term as it leads to fluid retention, cresty neck and laminatis.

I will be happy to keep you updated on the improvements of my mare as summer progresses.

Thanks again.

Sincerely,

Sophie Creech - Durham, NC

Robin Goodfellow is a 7 year Welsh Cob/Arab cross newly diagnosed with heaves this spring; I had thought it was his somewhat thick throatlatch coupled with allergies that made his breathing slightly labored when he worked, but as the humid weather started, I had the vet look at him. Luckily we caught it very early, so he advised that I soak his hay for several hours before feeding, and hopefully we wouldn't have to medicate him. Soaking the hay helped, but as the humidity, heat (and probably allergens) increased, some days were still hard for him. I tried Chinese herbs from a local alternative vet with no real results. Then I remembered that years ago, another alternative vet had recommended Breathe Ease for my thoroughbred who'd gotten an infection . Luckily I'd saved the empty container, and was able to locate it on the internet.

Breathe Ease has really helped Robin. Occasionally on very hot and humid days, I can hear his breathing--but he's also drooling from summer clover in the field, which is probably a partial cause. He still does cough a few times during the first trot, but then he's fine.

So happy to avoid steroids or other drugs!

Michael,

This is not my first dose of Breathe Ease, my horse (17 year old, Holsteiner mare) who jumped last season around 1.10 to 1.20.m. height. At one point in August last year got a pretty bad cough, she was allergy tested and found out she was not allergic to anything. My vet mentioned scoping her but I was against it, it is a pretty big trauma for horse in Croatia (they use old fashioned methods to scope).

So I ordered Breathe Ease and also another product…… I don't know if you know of it. By her symptoms, I would say she has COPD.While we were waiting for Breathe Ease and the other product…... to come she was taking something called VentiPlus (Ventiplumin), but she was only feeling good when taking it. And since it's a Clenbutanol product I didn't fell good about it in the long run. So when Breathe Ease came, we switched her on it and she was doing great within two weeks. Her cough was gone completely, I was thrilled, so I never got to open the other product......

Unfortunately, she started to cough again about a month ago and we tried the other product….. since I was out of Breathe Ease and she needed a quick fix (it was very hard to get Breathe Ease). Her cough didn't stop or even reduced. So I finally found your site and got a second round. She's taking Ventiplumin and she's been having some bad days, not even jumping or training any more, that's why I got upset when I found out it was shipped later then expected :o)

I'll be sure to let you know how the second dose works out but I was super pleased the first time. Was advertising it all over Hipodrom Zagreb :o)

Best regards,
Matija Branica – Zagreb, Croatia

In an article entitled “Chronic Cough Solutions” in the Horse Journal, Breathe Ease was touted for its effectiveness. The case studies in the article produced the following results:

“…Quickest results by far were obtained with the Chinese herbs in Breathe Ease, with marked improvements obvious within a few days.”

“…The most dramatic product response we saw was to Breathe Ease.”

“…The toughest test of effectiveness was in horses that had decreased exercise tolerance and abnormal recoveries from exercise. In these horses, Breathe Ease produced superior results.”

“…the horses on full doses not only breathed much more easily but were ‘on their toes’ and alert. They weren’t nervous or unmanageable but showed a much higher energy level.”

Michael,

About eight years ago my mare developed a cough during the summer months. The Vet said she had allergies. Each spring and summer it got a little worse until all she could do was stand in her stall sweating and heaving. The Vet came and medicated her and we got through another year. Four years ago she had another episode and we were given Ventipulmin Syrup and a prescription for human inhalers. My wife found Breathe Ease on the internet and we ordered a one month supply. I gave my horse all of the medication and Breathe Ease for three weeks and started to make arrangements to have her put down. The fourth week she started to improve tremendously. I did not know what had made her suddenly improve, but canceled the Vet call. The Breathe Ease was gone and I did not reorder. The fifth week she started to relapse and I realized the Breathe Ease was the cause for her vast improvement. I contacted Michael at Equine-Gold and he got a 5 lbs container of Breathe Ease to me right away. Four years later my mare is still here with us. The mare has improved each year since. She will never be 100%, but I would have bet had I known about and given Breathe Ease to her when she first developed the cough she would be. I give her one scoop each evening with her food all year round.

Michael,

I just wanted to drop you a line on what a great product your Breathe Ease powder is. I agreed to take a horse as a companion to my younger horse Ace. I was told the horse had COPD, but all I had to do was wet his hay and he'd be fine. When they unloaded the horse at my home I couldn't believe how bad his breathing was. To say he was in respiratory distress is an understatement. You could hear his wheezing, he had the classic heave lines with his ribs showing and his breathing was so shallow and rapid that if I was breathing like that for 10 minutes I would pass out. I was told the horse had been like this for 8 years and nothing from the Vet seemed to help, if he had a really bad bout I was told to give him Ventipulmin. I called the Vet and he told me the same thing if he was really bad give him the Ventipulmin. I decided to do some research and see if I could find a better solution. I went on some horse forums on the Internet and saw where some people had used your product and it helped tremendously, but a Vet replied on the forum there was no documented proof that herbal products work for COPD. After seeing the Vets response I almost dismissed your product until I saw the article in Horse Journalwhere they had good results with your product. I decided to gamble and give it a try. I couldn't believe how well it worked! It took about 2 weeks on the product before I saw results. The first thing I noticed was his nostrils didn't seem as flared and he had a better appetite. He is now to the point if I compare his breathing to my healthy younger horse you can hardly tell the difference in there breathing, no more flared nostrils, his breathing is deep and slow his ribs aren't showing and the heave line is disappearing. This is a big beautiful Quarter Horse gelding who has improved so much I will be starting him under saddle again. When my Vet comes out I want him to look at this so he can help other clients with COPD. I will recommend your product to anyone with a COPD horse.
